Why your baby will benefit from at-home bodywork

One of the biggest reasons I created this course is because I want moms to trust the God-given instincts they were created with.So many moms are told they’re overthinking, their baby is high maintenance, that babies are “just fussy,” or to not worry so much. But deep down, we moms usually know when something feels off.

I also want moms to not be afraid to touch their babies.
Your touch matters more than you know. You are your baby's safe spot. Your baby knows you.
Your smell. Your voice. Your heartbeat. Your hands.

And because of that, your touch can be one of the most powerful tools for healing, regulation, and connection.

But YOU, as the parent, are one of the greatest supports your baby has.

You’re with them every single day.
You notice the tiny changes.
You know their cries, expressions, movements, and needs better than anyone else.

And daily gentle bodywork can make such a huge difference over time.

Your baby’s nervous system is deeply connected to yours. In the early months especially, babies regulate through you. Your calm voice, slow touch, breathing, and presence all help tell their body: “you are safe.”

At-home bodywork becomes more than helping physical tension.
It becomes bonding. Regulation. Attachment. Connection.

Even just 5–10 minutes throughout the day can help:

  • release built up tension

  • support digestion and reflux

  • improve feeding and latch

  • help baby feel more comfortable in their body

  • calm the nervous system

  • encourage deeper sleep

  • improve flexibility and movement

  • reduce stiffness and discomfort

  • support body awareness and development

  • decrease stress hormones

  • strengthen parent-baby bonding

  • help babies feel more settled and regulated

Infant massage and nurturing touch have also been shown to support:

  • circulation

  • digestion

  • relaxation

  • sensory development

  • emotional security

  • confidence in parents

  • reduced stress and anxiety for both baby and parent

Babies hold so much in their tiny bodies. Pregnancy positioning, birth pressure, long labor, fast labor, cesarean birth, forceps/vacuum delivery, feeding tension, stress, and overstimulation can all affect them.

And sometimes babies communicate discomfort the only ways they can:
through crying, stiffness, arching, poor sleep, head preference, feeding struggles, fussiness, or constantly needing to be held.

Gentle bodywork helps create more ease and space in the body so they can move, rest, digest, and develop more comfortably.

And the most amazing thing is, it doesn’t have to be complicated. 5-10 minutes a day make such a difference.

A few intentional minutes while changing them, rocking them, after bath time, while nursing, or before sleep can go such a long way.

This isn’t me saying at-home bodywork should replace working with a professional completely! Sometimes babies have deeper tension patterns, birth strain, feeding struggles, or nervous system dysregulation that needs more support and guidance. That’s where a trained professional can really help.

At-home bodywork, combined with working alongside a craniosacral therapist or bodyworker, can be even more powerful.

Doing gentle work at home between sessions helps the body hold and integrate changes better, can help sessions move along faster, and often means babies need less intensive support over time. It allows healing and regulation to continue every single day- not just during appointments.

Creating space in your baby’s body helps create a flexible, happier, more comfortable baby!!
